![]() The screw compressors are efficient in low air pressure requirements. The rotary compressors are classified into screw type, vane type-lobe type, scroll type and other types. Instead, these compressors have screws, vanes, scrolls, and other devices which rotate and thus compress air. These compressors are not of reciprocating nature, therefore does not have any pistons and crankshaft. Thus both sides of the pistons are effectively used in compressing the air. The compressed air delivery is comparatively continuous when compared to a single-acting air compressor. The intake and delivery valves operate corresponding to the stroke of the compressor. As the piston moves up and down, both sides of the piston is utilized in compressing the air. These compressors are having two sets of suction/intake and delivery valves on both sides of the piston. The bottom of the piston is open to crankcase and not utilized for the compression of air. The air is compressed only on the top part of the piston. The other end of the piston is often free or open which does not perform any work. These are usually reciprocating compressors, which has piston working on air only in one direction. Better torque and balancing is achieved by displacing the units by certain angle. Higher capacity compressors are water cooled. The compressor has different units displaced usually by 90 degrees, may or may not be connected to same crank pin on the crank shaft. These are usually air cooled compressors with concentric valves mounted on each cylinder head unit. Refer the attached diagram of the reciprocating in-line compressors. These compressors are commonly direct driven by electric motors or diesel engines. The cylinders of various stages are found in a straight line when seen from top. These are simple in design with almost very little automation. These are most commonly used compressors with varying pressure ranges. The Attached picture shows the clear classification of different types of compressors.

![]() If you feel you need a 30-minute break instead of a 15 minute one, you should take it. ![]() We are not made to function for 8 straight hours of studying a day without taking a breather. A really good tip is to use a plant a tree app – it will help you work towards your goals while also doing something sustainable!ĭon’t fool yourself, breaks are so important. You can also make studying more fun by making your notes interesting – treat yourself by getting a really nice highlighter set, or a good notebook to take some notes, although I won’t tell you to go and start a ‘studygram’ account, but having nice stationery does really make the studying process feel more enjoyable. You can easily set up a reward system for yourself – every time you successfully complete a session, give yourself a treat – like a coffee or a snack or watch a short YouTube video. Possibly one of the most useful pieces of advice is to keep your sessions fun! I think a lot of the time we forget that there are ways to make studying a bit more fun. If you read my previous blog about studying in the rain, you’ll know that we don’t even need calming sounds all the time in Groningen, the rain provides plenty! Some students suggest listening to classical music to keep you in the zone. Put your phone on airplane mode if you feel the compulsion to check Instagram or TikTok is too strong (I usually just turn it off and use an analogue clock as my timer, old school… I know). Especially a cute animal… I mean, have you ever had a cat around while studying? They’ll type more on your keyboard than you! I find a quiet spot like the library or a cosy area of your room is a good place to study. Phones, tablets, TVs, laptops and cute animals… As useful as these are in our daily lives, during a study session they can be quite the obstacle to productivity. It’s quite a simple technique which helps you use your time effectively. (Pro-tip, a lot of students that I know make use of the Pomodoro technique. Once you’ve set up a schedule for what you’ll study in a given time frame, a good idea to keep yourself on time is to set a timer! A really good suggestion if you struggle with starting to study, is to set a timer for 10-minutes and try and work as much as you can for those 10-minutes, then gradually extend the timer – you’ll find yourself carrying out a 40-minute study session in no time at all! It’s also a great idea to make sure that you also time your breaks – we’ve all said that we’ll take a 15 minute break that turns out to be a 50 minute one (I know I have). I would also suggest that you factor in study breaks and exercise time. Blocking off set hours for specific tasks like re-watching a recorded lecture or working on your summaries and reading materials is a good place to start. Clever use of your calendar will definitely help boost your productivity, and it allows you to see exactly how you are spending your time. We got some really amazing responses from students on how to deal with an exam season and I thought it would be useful to compile them in a blog for you to read through!īy far, the most suggestions we received from our followers were to make sure that you have properly planned out your study schedule. This week we asked our followers on Instagram to share their best study tips with us. ![]() It is not available for previous-generation models. They’ve never had a problem sounding big, but the inevitable point on each record where Drew and former producer David Newfeld couldn’t keep their friends in check has always been a subject of “bug or feature?” discussion. Any sort of industry leveling-up is probably out of the question at this point for Broken Social Scene and the possibility that they’re going for “hits” is entirely theoretical. More so than Forgiveness Rock Record, Hug of Thunder presents Broken Social Scene as a rock band making rock songs, a coherent montage rather than a patched-together highlight reel. Affecting as it is on its own, it also serves as a necessary segue between the “Vanity Pail Kids” and the muted soul-baring of the second half. ![]() Immediately afterward, the subterranean rumbles of the title track are a peek at what Feist’s Pleasure might’ve been with fleshier arrangements. “Vanity Pail Kids” has the kind of arrangement that would proudly bleed into an undifferentiated splotch on previous albums, but here, the jazz-handed chorus opens the possibility of Broken Social Scene as an up-with-people Earth, Wind & Fire indie-soul revue. On its own, “Skyline” forgoes any hook for mesmeric repetition, getting Hug of Thunder to a cruising altitude where “Stay Happy” can serve as a realistic mantra. But in the same way that the members of Broken Social Scene renounce their star power to present a unified front, the individual songs of Hug of Thunder are best understood as reciprocal parts of a whole.Īfter the sunrise incantation of “Sol Luna,” “Halfway Home” gets Hug of Thunder to a height where the breathless plunge of the chorus from “Protest Song” can feel like a skydive without a parachute. The subsequent previews of Hug of Thunder also gave us “googly-eyed dream-pop,” “passed-out drunk and caffeine-wired studio wizards,” and also “the band with Feist in it.” Broken Social Scene are defined by a kind of utopian collectivism, and the lead-up to Hug of Thunder confirms that their excessive generosity can make them a seriously inefficient singles band. Which, yes, it sounds just like Broken Social Scene at the times when they’re going to lift you out of whatever hole you’re chosen to wallow in, even if it takes all 30 hands on deck. Drew and company try to make converts of lapsed idealists and people that remind him of his former self.Ģ017 has found many of the past decade’s most beloved indie rock acts returning after long layoffs, and as with many of their lead singles, ”Halfway Home” was greeted not with a loud embrace of crackling buzz, but a shrug, disappointed by the lack of novelty rather than marveling at just how Broken Social Scene distilled their essence into four minutes. While there’s an undeniable power in commiseration, Hug of Thunder is invigorated by the missionary spirit of the band’s best work. I'm not sure. This arrogance on the part of the developers suggests they turn a blind eye to their own failures. But other developers have seemingly worked out a solution for this: Bear doesn't lose my files like iA Writer does, and neither did Editorial (RIP). If you look at the developers' responses to other users who've complained about this on iAWriter Store, it seems they're willing to blame iCloud Sync for this, as if the problem is endemic to Apple's implementation of file synchronization.
